Northwestern Metropolitan Region
Combining strengths, utilizing synergies and achieving more together
The Metropolitan Region Northwest is one of eleven European metropolitan regions in Germany that stand for cross-state regional cooperation and networking. It extends from the North Sea to the Teutoburg Forest and is home to more than 2.8 million people in its eleven districts and five independent cities – and counting. Its tasks include promoting regional activities to increase competitiveness and future viability, quality of life and, last but not least, visibility. Above all, the Metropolitan Region Northwest stands for cross-state regional cooperation and networking.
The Metropolitan Region Northwest acts as a transmitter and initiator, does lobbying work on the topics mentioned, acquires and allocates funding, and represents and profiles the region at the regional, national and international level.
